खड्गरोमशिरः कायात्तथा परशुनाच्छिनत् ।। बलाहकस्य च शिरः खट्वांगेनाकरोद्द्विधा ।।११।।

He severed the head of Khaḍgaromā from his body with his axe. He shattered the head of Balāhaka with his club into two pieces.

स बद्ध्वा घस्मरं दैत्यं पाशेनाभ्यहनद्भुवि ।। महावीर प्रचंडं च चकर्त्त विशिखेन ह ।। १२ ।।

He tied the Daitya Ghasmara with his noose and dashed him on the ground. With his trident, he chopped off the great hero Pracaṇḍa.

sa baddhvA ghasmaraM daityaM pAzenAbhyahanadbhuvi || mahAvIra pracaMDaM ca cakartta vizikhena ha || 12 ||

वृषभेण हताः केचित्केचिद्बाणैर्निपातिता ।। न शेकुरसुराः स्थातुं गजा सिंहार्दिता इव ।।१३।।

Some of the Asuras were killed by the bull. Some were struck by the arrows. Like elephants harassed by lions, the Asuras were unable to stay there.

ततः क्रोधपरीतात्मा दैत्यान्धिक्कृतवान्रणे ।। शुंभादिकान्महादैत्यः प्रहसन्प्राह धैर्यवान्।।१४।।

Then the great Asura Jalandhara became infuriated and rebuked the Daityas in the battle. The courageous Daitya mocked at Śumbha and others and spoke thus.

tataH krodhaparItAtmA daityAndhikkRtavAnraNe || zuMbhAdikAnmahAdaityaH prahasanprAha dhairyavAn||14||

जलंधर उवाच ।। किं व उच्चरितैर्मातुर्धावद्भिः पृष्ठतो हतैः ।। न हि भीतवधः श्लाघ्यः स्वर्गदः शूरमानिनाम् ।।१५।।

Jalandhara said: Of what avail is your boasting about the pedigree of your mother if you flee back on being attacked? To die cowardly while you profess to be heroes is not commendable, nor does it yield heaven.
