अर्द्धेन नारी पुरुषश्चार्द्धेन संततो मुने । स तस्यामसृजद्द्वंद्वं सर्वसाधनमुत्तमम् ।।११।।

sanskrit

One half had the form of a woman and the other half that of a man[1]. He then created in her a couple, the means of excellent nature.

english translation

arddhena nArI puruSazcArddhena saMtato mune | sa tasyAmasRjaddvaMdvaM sarvasAdhanamuttamam ||11||
