स च्छिन्नधन्वा भगवान्केशवो लोकरक्ष कः ॥ जलंधरस्य नाशाय चिक्षेप स्वगदां पराम्॥२६॥
With his bow split, the lord Viṣṇu, protector of the worlds, hurled his great mace for the destruction of Jalandhara.
english translation
sa cchinnadhanvA bhagavAnkezavo lokarakSa kaH ॥ jalaMdharasya nAzAya cikSepa svagadAM parAm॥26॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसा गदा हरिणा क्षिप्ता ज्वलज्ज्वलनसन्निभा॥ अमोघगतिका शीघ्रं तस्य देहे ललाग ह॥२७॥
That mace resembling a blazing flame when hurled by Viṣṇu moved with unerring aim and dashed against his body.
english translation
sA gadA hariNA kSiptA jvalajjvalanasannibhA॥ amoghagatikA zIghraM tasya dehe lalAga ha॥27॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतया हतो महादैत्यो न चचालापि किंचन॥ जलंधरो मदोन्मत्तः पुष्पमालाहतो यथा॥२८॥
Though hit by it, the great haughty Jalandhara did not move even slightly as though he was hit by a flower-garland.
english translation
tayA hato mahAdaityo na cacAlApi kiMcana॥ jalaMdharo madonmattaH puSpamAlAhato yathA॥28॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो जलंधरः क्रोधी देवत्रासकरोऽक्षिपत् ॥ त्रिशूलमनलाकारं हरये रणदुर्म्मदः॥२९॥
Then the infuriated Jalandhara, invincible in war, terrifying to the Asuras hurled a trident, resembling fire, at Viṣṇu.

tato jalaMdharaH krodhI devatrAsakaro'kSipat ॥ trizUlamanalAkAraM haraye raNadurmmadaH॥29॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ विष्णुस्तत्त्रिशूलं चिच्छेद तरसा द्रुतम्॥ नंदकाख्येन खड्गेन स्मृत्वा शिवपदाम्बुजम् ॥2-5-17-३०॥
Immediately Viṣṇu remembered the lotus-like feet of Śiva and cut the trident with his sword Nandaka.

atha viSNustattrizUlaM ciccheda tarasA drutam॥ naMdakAkhyena khaDgena smRtvA zivapadAmbujam ॥2-5-17-30॥
