स एव दग्धुं त्रिपुराणि तानि देवद्विषां व्यास पिनाकपाणिः ।। स्वयं गतस्तत्र गणैश्च सार्द्धं निजैस्सुराणामपि सोऽद्भुतोतिः ।।४२।।

sanskrit

O Vyāsa, that trident-bearing lord, of wonderful power of causing enjoyment and protection, himself went there with his own Gaṇas and the gods to burn the three cities of the enemies of gods.

english translation

sa eva dagdhuM tripurANi tAni devadviSAM vyAsa pinAkapANiH || svayaM gatastatra gaNaizca sArddhaM nijaissurANAmapi so'dbhutotiH ||42||
