समावृत्य महादेवं तदापुस्ते पिनाकिनम् ॥ दग्धुं समर्था मनसा क्षणेन सचराचरम् ॥ 2.5.9.४० ॥

They were capable of burning the entire world including the mobile and immobile beings, within a trice by their very thought. Surrounding Śiva, the great lord, they went ahead.

samAvRtya mahAdevaM tadApuste pinAkinam ॥ dagdhuM samarthA manasA kSaNena sacarAcaram ॥ 2.5.9.40 ॥
