व्यास उवाच ॥ दैत्यराजे दीक्षिते च मायिना तेन मोहिते ॥ किमुवाच तदा मायी किं चकार स दैत्यपः ॥ १ ॥
Vyāsa said: When the ruler of the Asuras was initiated after being deluded by the deceptive sage expert in the magic art what did the sage say? What did the ruler of the Asuras do?
english translation
सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ दीक्षां दत्त्वा यतिस्तस्मा अरिहन्नारदादिभिः॥ शिष्यैस्सेवितपादाब्जो दैत्यराजानमब्रवीत् ॥ २ ॥
Sanatkumāra said: After offering him initiation, the ascetic Arihan served by his disciples, Nārada and others, spoke to the ruler of the Asuras.
english translation
अरिहन्नुवाच ॥ शृणु दैत्यपते वाक्यं मम सञ्ज्ञानगर्भितम् ॥ वेदान्तसारसर्वस्वं रहस्यं परमोत्तमम् ॥३॥
Arihan said: O ruler of the Asuras, listen to my statement, pregnant with wisdom. It is the essence of the Vedānta and bears high esoteric importance.
english translation
अनादिसिद्धस्संसारः कर्तृकर्मविवर्जितः ॥ स्वयं प्रादुर्भवत्येव स्वयमेव विलीयते ॥ ४ ॥
The entire universe is eternal. It has no creator nor it is an object of creation. It evolves itself and gets annihilated by itself.
english translation
ब्रह्मादिस्तंबपर्यन्तं यावद्देहनिबंधनम् ॥ आत्मैवैकेश्वरस्तत्र न द्वितीयस्तदीशिता॥ ५ ॥
There are many bodies from Brahmā down to a blade of grass. They themselves are the gods for them. There is no other God.
