भोज्या वै ब्राह्मणास्तस्मादत्र कार्या नरेण हि ॥ महापातकजं दुखं तत्क्षणान्नश्यति ध्रुवम् ॥ ४६ ॥

Brahmins shall be fed. Hence, only those who can afford shall perform this. Certainly all miseries due to great sins perish instantaneously.

english translation

bhojyA vai brAhmaNAstasmAdatra kAryA nareNa hi ॥ mahApAtakajaM dukhaM tatkSaNAnnazyati dhruvam ॥ 46 ॥

यवपूजा तथा प्रोक्ता लक्षेण परमा शिवे ॥ प्रस्थानामष्टकं चैव तथा प्रस्थार्द्धकं पुनः ॥ ४७ ॥

he worship with barley (Yavapūjā) is also described as highly auspicious, O Supreme Goddess. And (offerings) of eight prasthas (a measure) for departure, as well as half a prastha again.

english translation

yavapUjA tathA proktA lakSeNa paramA zive ॥ prasthAnAmaSTakaM caiva tathA prasthArddhakaM punaH ॥ 47 ॥

पलद्वययुतं तत्र मानमेतत्पुरातनम् ॥ यवपूजा च मुनिभिः स्वर्गसौख्यविवर्द्धिनी ॥ ४८ ॥

That (measure) is traditionally considered to be two palas (units of weight); this is the ancient standard. And the worship with barley (Yavapūjā) is said by the sages to increase heavenly bliss.

प्राजापत्यं ब्राह्मणानां कर्तव्यं च फलेप्सुभिः ॥ गोधूमान्नैस्तथा पूजा प्रशस्ता शंकरस्य वै ॥ ४९ ॥

Brahmins desiring the benefit shall perform the rite of Prājāpatya. The worship of Śiva with wheat grains is highly praiseworthy.

prAjApatyaM brAhmaNAnAM kartavyaM ca phalepsubhiH ॥ godhUmAnnaistathA pUjA prazastA zaMkarasya vai ॥ 49 ॥

संततिर्वर्द्धते तस्य यदि लक्षावधिः कृता ॥ द्रोणार्द्धेन भवेल्लक्षं विधानं विधिपूर्वकम् ॥ 2.1.14.५० ॥

If a hundred thousand grains are used for worship, the devotee shall be blessed with a number of children. Half a Droṇa of wheat will constitute a hundred thousand in number of grains. The mode of worship is as before.
