मुद्गानां पूजने देवः शिवो यच्छति वै सुखम् ।। प्रस्थानां सप्तकेनैव प्रस्थार्द्धेनाथवा पुनः ।।५१।।

sanskrit

In the worship with mudga (green gram/lentils), Lord Shiva indeed bestows happiness. (One should offer) seven prasthas, or alternatively, half a prastha, once again.

english translation

mudgAnAM pUjane devaH zivo yacchati vai sukham || prasthAnAM saptakenaiva prasthArddhenAthavA punaH ||51||

पलद्वययुतेनैव लक्षमुक्तं पुरातनैः ।। ब्राह्मणाश्च तथा भोज्या रुद्रसंख्याप्रमाणतः ।। ५२ ।।

sanskrit

With (an offering) accompanied by two palas, the goal (lakṣa) has been stated by the ancients. And Brahmins are to be fed accordingly, in the number corresponding to (the count of) Rudras.

english translation

paladvayayutenaiva lakSamuktaM purAtanaiH || brAhmaNAzca tathA bhojyA rudrasaMkhyApramANataH || 52 ||

प्रियंगुपूजनादेव धर्माध्यक्षे परात्मनि ।। धर्मार्थकामा वर्द्धंते पूजा सर्वसुखावहा ।। ५३ ।।

sanskrit

If the great Ātman, the presiding deity of Dharma, is worshipped with Priyaṅgu (long pepper corns), the devotee will be blessed with happiness.

english translation

priyaMgupUjanAdeva dharmAdhyakSe parAtmani || dharmArthakAmA varddhaMte pUjA sarvasukhAvahA || 53 ||

प्रस्थैकेन च तस्योक्तं लक्षमेकं पुरातनैः।। ब्रह्मभोजं तथा प्रोक्तमर्कसंख्याप्रमाणतः।।५४।।

sanskrit

His virtue, wealth and love will flourish. A Prastha of these corns constitutes a hundred thousand in number according to ancient authorities. Twelve brahmins shall be fed.

english translation

prasthaikena ca tasyoktaM lakSamekaM purAtanaiH|| brahmabhojaM tathA proktamarkasaMkhyApramANataH||54||

राजिकापूजनं शंभोश्शत्रोर्मृत्युकरं स्मृतम्।। सार्षपानां तथा लक्षं पलैर्विशतिसंख्यया ।।५५।।

sanskrit

Worship with Rājikā (small mustard) of Śiva shall bring about the death of enemies. Twenty Palas of Sarṣapa (big mustard) constitute a hundred thousand in number.

english translation

rAjikApUjanaM zaMbhozzatrormRtyukaraM smRtam|| sArSapAnAM tathA lakSaM palairvizatisaMkhyayA ||55||
