एवं श्रुत्वा वचस्तेषां प्रसन्ना चंडिकाऽभवत् ॥ प्रत्युवाच ऋषींस्तान्वै करुणाविष्टमानसा ॥४१॥
On hearing their words Pārvatī was pleased and she replied to the sages with her mind full of compassion.

देव्युवाच ॥ मत्पुत्रो यदि जीवेत तदा संहरणं नहि ॥ यथा हि भवतां मध्ये पूज्योऽयं च भविष्यति ॥४२॥
The goddess said: If my son regains life there may not be further annihilation.

सर्वाध्यक्षो भवेदद्य यूयं कुरुत तद्यदि ॥ तदा शांतिर्भवेल्लोके नान्यथा सुखमाप्स्यथ ॥४३॥
If you can arrange for him an honourable status and position among you as the chief presiding officer, there may be peace in the world. Otherwise you will never be happy.

॥ ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्युक्तास्ते तदा सर्वे ऋषयो युष्मदादयः ॥ तेभ्यो देवेभ्य आगत्य सर्वं वृत्तं न्यवेदयन् ॥४४॥
Brahmā said: Thus warned, you and other sages returned and intimated to all the gods everything in detail.

ते च सर्वे तथा श्रुत्वा शंकराय न्यवेदयन् ॥ नत्वा प्रांजलयो दीनाः शक्रप्रभृतयस्सुराः ॥४५॥
On hearing that, Indra and other gods joined their palms in reverence and piteously intimated to Śiva what had transpired there.
