शक्रं पश्य तथा विष्णुं व्याकुलं च सुरान् गणान्॥ एवं जहि महादैत्यं त्रैलोक्यं सुखिनं कुरु ॥ ६ ॥
See Indra and Viṣṇu. They are agitated and distressed, So also the gods and the Gaṇas. Slay this great demon. Make the three worlds happy.
english translation
zakraM pazya tathA viSNuM vyAkulaM ca surAn gaNAn॥ evaM jahi mahAdaityaM trailokyaM sukhinaM kuru ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनेन विजितश्चेन्द्रो लोकपालैः पुरा सह ॥ विष्णुश्चापि महावीरो तर्जितस्तपसो बलात्॥७॥
Formerly Indra and the guardians of the quarters had been conquered by him. Due to the power of his penance, the heroic Viṣṇu too has been threatened by him.

anena vijitazcendro lokapAlaiH purA saha ॥ viSNuzcApi mahAvIro tarjitastapaso balAt॥7॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्रैलोक्यं निर्जितं सर्वमसुरेण दुरात्मना॥ इदानीं तव सान्निध्यात्पुनर्युद्धं कृतं च तैः॥८॥
The entire universe of the three worlds has been defeated by this wicked Asura. Now, because of your presence, they have fought again.
english translation
trailokyaM nirjitaM sarvamasureNa durAtmanA॥ idAnIM tava sAnnidhyAtpunaryuddhaM kRtaM ca taiH॥8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मात्त्वया निहंतव्यस्तारकः पापपूरुषः ॥ अन्यवध्यो न चैवायं मद्वराच्छंकरात्मज॥९॥
Hence, O son of Śiva, this sinful being Tāraka shall be killed by you. Due to the boon granted by me he cannot be slain by any one else.

tasmAttvayA nihaMtavyastArakaH pApapUruSaH ॥ anyavadhyo na caivAyaM madvarAcchaMkarAtmaja॥9॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript॥ब्रह्मोवाच॥ इति श्रुत्वा मम वचः कुमारः शंकरात्मजः ॥ विजहास प्रसन्नात्मा तथास्त्विति वचोऽब्रवीत् ॥2-4-9-१०॥
Brahmā said: On hearing these words of mine, Kumāra, son of Śiva, was delighted and he laughed. “So be it”, said he.

॥brahmovAca॥ iti zrutvA mama vacaH kumAraH zaMkarAtmajaH ॥ vijahAsa prasannAtmA tathAstviti vaco'bravIt ॥2-4-9-10॥
