शिवसुत उवाच ॥ शिवेच्छया महाज्ञानिन्नकस्मात्त्वमिहागतः ॥ संस्कारं कुरु मे तात यथावद्वेदसंमितम् ॥६॥
Śiva’s son said: O great one of perfect wisdom, it is due to the will of Śiva that you have come here by chance. O dear, perform my purificatory rites in accordance with Vedic injunctions.
english translation
अद्यारभ्य पुरोधास्त्वं भव मे प्रीतिमावहन् ॥ भविष्यसि सदा पूज्यस्सर्वेषां नात्र संशयः ॥ ७ ॥
From now onwards you remain my priest conferring your love on me. It is certain that you will become the object of worship of all.
english translation
॥ ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ ॥ इत्याकर्ण्य वचस्तस्य सुप्रसन्नो हि गाधिजः ॥ तमुवाचानुदात्तेन स्वरेण च सुविस्मितः ॥ ८ ॥
Brahmā said: On hearing his words, Gādhi’s son(Viśvāmitra) was highly delighted and surprised. He spoke to him in a tone, by no means highly accented.
english translation
विश्वामित्र उवाच ॥ शृणु तात न विप्रोऽहं गाधिक्षत्रियबालकः ॥ विश्वामित्रेति विख्यातः क्षत्रियो विप्रसेवकः ॥ ९ ॥
Viśvāmitra said: Listen, O dear, I am not a brahmin. I am a Kṣatriya, son of Gādhi, famous as Viśvāmitra and a servant of brahmins.
english translation
इति स्वचरितं ख्यातं मया ते वरबालक ॥ कस्त्वं स्वचरितं ब्रूहि विस्मितायाखिलं हि मे ॥ 2-4-3-१० ॥
O excellent boy, I have thus narrated my life to you. Who are you? Now mention everything about your life to me who am surprised.
