येन वीर्यं पतेद्भूमौ तत् करिष्यथ निश्चितम् ।। तत्र वीर्य्ये च भविता स्कन्दनामा प्रभोस्सुतः ।। ४१ ।।

Wherever the seed (virya) falls upon the earth, you shall certainly act there — and from that seed, Skanda, the son of the Lord (Shiva), will be born.

yena vIryaM patedbhUmau tat kariSyatha nizcitam || tatra vIryye ca bhavitA skandanAmA prabhossutaH || 41 ||

अधुना स्वगृहं गच्छ विधे सुरगणैस्सह ।। करोतु शंभुस्संभोगं पार्वत्या सह निर्जने ।। ४२ ।।

O Brahmā, return to your abode along with the gods. Let Śiva carry on enjoyment in the isolated place m the company of Pārvatī.

english translation

adhunA svagRhaM gaccha vidhe suragaNaissaha || karotu zaMbhussaMbhogaM pArvatyA saha nirjane || 42 ||

ब्रह्मोवाच ।। इत्युक्त्वा कमलाकान्तः शीघ्रं स्वन्तः पुरं ययौ ।। स्वालयं प्रययुर्देवा मया सह मुनीश्वर ।। ४३ ।।

Brahmā said: After saying this, the lord of Lakṣmī immediately returned to his harem. O great sage, the gods too returned to their abodes along with me.

brahmovAca || ityuktvA kamalAkAntaH zIghraM svantaH puraM yayau || svAlayaM prayayurdevA mayA saha munIzvara || 43 ||

शक्तिशक्तिमतोश्चाऽथ विहारेणाऽति च क्षितिः ।। भाराक्रांता चकंपे सा सशेषाऽपि सकच्छपा ।।४४।।

On account of the dalliance of Śiva and Pārvatī, the earth quaked with the weight along with Śeṣa (the serpent) and Kacchapa (the tortoise).

zaktizaktimatozcA'tha vihAreNA'ti ca kSitiH || bhArAkrAMtA cakaMpe sA sazeSA'pi sakacchapA ||44||

कच्छपस्य हि भारेण सर्वाधारस्समीरणः ।। स्तंभितोऽथ त्रिलोकाश्च बभूवुर्भयविह्वलाः ।। ४५ ।।

By the weight of Kacchapa, the cosmic air, the support of everything, was stunned and the three worlds became terrified and agitated.
