छेत्स्यामि कालीमथवा शस्त्रास्त्रैर्भूरिखण्डशः ॥ निमज्जयिष्ये वा सिन्धौ स्वसुताम्पार्वतीं खलु ॥ ६६ ॥
Or I will cut her into many pieces with weapons and arrows. Or I will drown my daughter Pārvatī in the deep sea.
english translation
अथवा स्वशरीरं हि त्यक्ष्याम्याश्वन्यथा ध्रुवम् ॥ न दास्ये शम्भवे कन्यां दुर्गां विकटरूपिणे ॥६७॥
Or I will certainly cast off my body. But I will never give my daughter to Śiva of hideous form.
english translation
वरोऽयं कीदृशो भीमोऽनया लब्धश्च दुष्टया ॥ कारितश्चोपहासो मे गिरेश्चापि कुलस्य हि ॥ ६८ ॥
What an awful bridegroom has been secured by this wicked girl? The mountain and I, nay the whole family, has been made a laughing stock.
english translation
न माता न पिता भ्राता न बन्धुर्गोत्रजोऽपि हि ॥ नो सुरूपं न चातुर्य्यं न गुहं वास्य किंचन ॥ ६९ ॥
He has neither a mother nor a father. He has no brother no kinsman. He has not even a fellow clansman. He has no beauty, no skill, not even a house of His own!
english translation
न वस्त्रं नाप्यलङ्कारास्सहायाः केऽपि तस्य न ॥ वाहनं न शुभं ह्यस्य न वयो न धनन्तथा ॥ 2-3-44-७० ॥
He has no good dress, no ornaments, no assistant? His vehicle is not good. He is neither rich nor even in the prime of youth.
