लिंगवेदिर्महादेवी लिंगं साक्षान्महेश्वरः ॥ लयनाल्लिंगमित्युक्तं तत्रैव निखिलं जगत् ॥ ३८ ॥
The great goddess is the pedestal for the liṅga. The liṅga is Lord Śiva Himself. Since the whole universe finally merges into in, it is called Liṅga.
