सूत उवाच॥ विचार्येति च ते तत्र दारुकाद्याश्च राक्षसाः ॥ उपायं न विजानन्तो दुःखं प्राप्तास्सदा हि वै ॥ २१ ॥
Sūta said:— Thinking thus and unable to find out a remedy Dāruka and his companions felt miserable indeed.
english translation
sUta uvAca॥ vicAryeti ca te tatra dArukAdyAzca rAkSasAH ॥ upAyaM na vijAnanto duHkhaM prAptAssadA hi vai ॥ 21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदारुका राक्षसी चापि ज्ञात्वा दुःखं समागतम् ॥ भवान्याश्च वरं तञ्च कथयामास सा तदा ॥ २२ ॥
On knowing that a great calamity had arrived, the the demoness Dārukā spoke of the boon granted by Pārvatī.
english translation
dArukA rAkSasI cApi jJAtvA duHkhaM samAgatam ॥ bhavAnyAzca varaM taJca kathayAmAsa sA tadA ॥ 22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदारुकोवाच ॥ मया ह्याराधिता पूर्वं भवपत्नी वरं ददौ ॥ वनं गच्छ निजैः सार्धं यत्र गंतुं त्वमिच्छसि ॥ २३ ॥
Dārukā said:— Propitiated by me formerly, the wife of Śiva had granted me a boon. You can go to the forest along with your people if you desire to go.
english translation
dArukovAca ॥ mayA hyArAdhitA pUrvaM bhavapatnI varaM dadau ॥ vanaM gaccha nijaiH sArdhaM yatra gaMtuM tvamicchasi ॥ 23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतद्वरश्च मया प्राप्तः कथं दुःखं विषह्यते ॥ जलं वनं च नीत्वा वै सुखं स्थेयं तु राक्षसैः ॥ २४ ॥
That boon has been secured by me. How is this misery to be borne? Taking your people to the island you can stay with the Rākṣasas happily.
english translation
tadvarazca mayA prAptaH kathaM duHkhaM viSahyate ॥ jalaM vanaM ca nItvA vai sukhaM stheyaM tu rAkSasaiH ॥ 24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभूत उवाच ॥ तस्यास्तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा राक्षस्या हर्षमागताः ॥ उचुस्सर्वे मिथस्ते हि राक्षसा निर्भयास्तदा ॥ २५ ॥
Sūta said:— On hearing the words of the Rākṣasī, the Rākṣasas were delighted. Getting rid of their fear they spoke to one another.

bhUta uvAca ॥ tasyAstadvacanaM zrutvA rAkSasyA harSamAgatAH ॥ ucussarve mithaste hi rAkSasA nirbhayAstadA ॥ 25 ॥
