दैत्य उवाच ॥ किमेते ब्राह्मणा दुष्टा न कुर्वंति वचो मम ॥ वेदधर्मरता एते सर्वे दंड्या मते मम ॥ २१॥
The Daitya said:— Why don’t the wicked brahmins do as I say? All these, engaged in Vedic rites and rituals are worthy of being punished by me.
english translation
सर्वे देवा मया लोके राजानश्च पराजिताः ॥ वशे किं ब्राह्मणाश्शक्या न कर्तुं दैत्यसत्तमाः ॥ २२॥
O excellent Daityas, the gods and the kings in the world have been defeated by me. Why should not the brahmins be kept in my control?
english translation
यदि जीवितुमिच्छा स्यात्तदा धर्मं शिवस्य च ॥ वेदानां परमं धर्मं त्यक्त्वा सुखसुभागिनः ॥ २३ ॥
If they wish to live happily let them abandon the rites of Śiva and the rituals of the Vedas.

अन्यथा जीवने तेषां संशयश्च भविष्यति ॥ इति सत्यं मया प्रोक्तं तत्कुरुध्वं विशंकिताः ॥ २४ ॥
Otherwise it is doubtful that they will continue to live. I have said this truthfully. Hence, do that unhesitatingly.

सूत उवाच ॥ इति निश्चित्य ते दैत्याश्चत्वारः पावका इव ॥ चतुर्दिक्षु तदा जाताः प्रलये च यथा पुरा ॥ २५ ॥
Sūta said:— On hearing this and receiving the instruction the four Daityas besieged the four quarters of the city like the fires of dissolution.
