सूत उवाच ॥ इति निश्चित्य ते दैत्याश्चत्वारः पावका इव ॥ चतुर्दिक्षु तदा जाताः प्रलये च यथा पुरा ॥ २५ ॥

sanskrit

Sūta said:— On hearing this and receiving the instruction the four Daityas besieged the four quarters of the city like the fires of dissolution.

english translation

sUta uvAca ॥ iti nizcitya te daityAzcatvAraH pAvakA iva ॥ caturdikSu tadA jAtAH pralaye ca yathA purA ॥ 25 ॥
