अन्यत्तु त्रितयं नाम्नामुपादानादिभेदतः॥ त्रिविधोपाधिरचनाच्छिव एव तु वर्तते ॥ ६ ॥
The other three names derive their origin from difference in the material cause. Śiva exists by creating three types of conditions.

अनादिमलसंश्लेषप्रागभावात्स्वभावतः ॥ अत्यन्तपरिशुद्धात्मेत्यतोऽयं शिव उच्यते ॥ ७॥
Due to the antecedent non-existence of the contact with the primordial Avidyā he is naturally pure-souled and is called Śiva.

अथवाऽशेषकल्याणगुणैकघन ईश्वरः ॥ शिव इत्युच्यते सद्भिश्शिवतत्त्वार्थवेदिभिः ॥ ८॥
Lord Śiva who is richly endowed with good attributes is called Śiva by the experts in the Śaiva cult.

त्रयोविंशतितत्वेभ्यः पराप्रकृतिरुच्यते॥ प्रकृतेस्तु परम्प्राहुः पुरुषम्पञ्चविंशकम्॥ ९॥
From the twenty-three elements it is called the transcendental nature. But they say that the twenty-fifth Purusha is beyond nature.

यद्वेदादौ स्वरम्प्राहुर्वाच्यवाचकभावतः ॥ वेदैकवेद्यं याथात्म्याद्वेदान्ते च प्रतिष्ठितम् ॥ १० ॥
That which is called the vowel in the beginning of the Vedas in the sense of expressing and signifying. It is the only Veda and is established in the Vedanta by its truthfulness.
