यो धृ॑षि॒तो योऽवृ॑तो॒ यो अस्ति॒ श्मश्रु॑षु श्रि॒तः । विभू॑तद्युम्न॒श्च्यव॑नः पुरुष्टु॒तः क्रत्वा॒ गौरि॑व शाकि॒नः ॥ यो धृषितो योऽवृतो यो अस्ति श्मश्रुषु श्रितः । विभूतद्युम्नश्च्यवनः पुरुष्टुतः क्रत्वा गौरिव शाकिनः ॥
He who is the subduer (of foes), the unresisted, practised in combats, possessed of vast wealth, thedemander of the libation, the praised of many, who by his acts (of bounty) is like a cow to the competent(worshipper).
english translation
क ईं॑ वेद सु॒ते सचा॒ पिब॑न्तं॒ कद्वयो॑ दधे । अ॒यं यः पुरो॑ विभि॒नत्त्योज॑सा मन्दा॒नः शि॒प्र्यन्ध॑सः ॥ क ईं वेद सुते सचा पिबन्तं कद्वयो दधे । अयं यः पुरो विभिनत्त्योजसा मन्दानः शिप्र्यन्धसः ॥
Who knows him drinking with (the priests) when the Soma is effused? What food has he partaken of?He, the handsome-jawed, who, exhilarated by the (sacrificial) Soma, destroys cities by his might.
english translation
दा॒ना मृ॒गो न वा॑र॒णः पु॑रु॒त्रा च॒रथं॑ दधे । नकि॑ष्ट्वा॒ नि य॑म॒दा सु॒ते ग॑मो म॒हाँश्च॑र॒स्योज॑सा ॥ दाना मृगो न वारणः पुरुत्रा चरथं दधे । नकिष्ट्वा नि यमदा सुते गमो महाँश्चरस्योजसा ॥
As a wild elephant emitting the dews of passion, he manifests his exhilaration in many plural ces; no onechecks you, (Indra), come to the libation; you are mighty, and goes (everywhere) through your strength.
english translation
य उ॒ग्रः सन्ननि॑ष्टृतः स्थि॒रो रणा॑य॒ संस्कृ॑तः । यदि॑ स्तो॒तुर्म॒घवा॑ शृ॒णव॒द्धवं॒ नेन्द्रो॑ योष॒त्या ग॑मत् ॥ य उग्रः सन्ननिष्टृतः स्थिरो रणाय संस्कृतः । यदि स्तोतुर्मघवा शृणवद्धवं नेन्द्रो योषत्या गमत् ॥
He who is fierce, unmoved (by foes) and firm, ready equipped for battle-- if Maghavan hears theinvocation of his adorer, he will not go apart (from us) but come here.
english translation
स॒त्यमि॒त्था वृषेद॑सि॒ वृष॑जूति॒र्नोऽवृ॑तः । वृषा॒ ह्यु॑ग्र शृण्वि॒षे प॑रा॒वति॒ वृषो॑ अर्वा॒वति॑ श्रु॒तः ॥ सत्यमित्था वृषेदसि वृषजूतिर्नोऽवृतः । वृषा ह्युग्र शृण्विषे परावति वृषो अर्वावति श्रुतः ॥
Verily (Indra), in this manner you are the showerer (of benefits), brought by vigorous (steeds) to us,unresisted (by foes); fierce (Indra), you are celebrated as a showerer (of benefits) when afar; you are celebratedas a showerer (of benefits) when near.
