वपु॒र्नु तच्चि॑कि॒तुषे॑ चिदस्तु समा॒नं नाम॑ धे॒नु पत्य॑मानम् । मर्ते॑ष्व॒न्यद्दो॒हसे॑ पी॒पाय॑ स॒कृच्छु॒क्रं दु॑दुहे॒ पृश्नि॒रूध॑: ॥ वपुर्नु तच्चिकितुषे चिदस्तु समानं नाम धेनु पत्यमानम् । मर्तेष्वन्यद्दोहसे पीपाय सकृच्छुक्रं दुदुहे पृश्निरूधः ॥

sanskrit

May the like-formed, benevolent, all-pervading, all humiliating troop (of the Maruts) be promptly with the prudent man; the troop that ever cherishes all that among mortals is designed to yield (them) advantage; and (at whose wil) Pṛśni gives milk from (her) bright udder once (in the year).

english translation

vapu॒rnu tacci॑ki॒tuSe॑ cidastu samA॒naM nAma॑ dhe॒nu patya॑mAnam | marte॑Sva॒nyaddo॒hase॑ pI॒pAya॑ sa॒kRcchu॒kraM du॑duhe॒ pRzni॒rUdha॑: || vapurnu taccikituSe cidastu samAnaM nAma dhenu patyamAnam | marteSvanyaddohase pIpAya sakRcchukraM duduhe pRznirUdhaH ||

ये अ॒ग्नयो॒ न शोशु॑चन्निधा॒ना द्विर्यत्त्रिर्म॒रुतो॑ वावृ॒धन्त॑ । अ॒रे॒णवो॑ हिर॒ण्यया॑स एषां सा॒कं नृ॒म्णैः पौंस्ये॑भिश्च भूवन् ॥ ये अग्नयो न शोशुचन्निधाना द्विर्यत्त्रिर्मरुतो वावृधन्त । अरेणवो हिरण्ययास एषां साकं नृम्णैः पौंस्येभिश्च भूवन् ॥

sanskrit

Unsoiled by dust the golden chariots of those Maruts, who are shining like kindled fires, enlarging themselves (at will) twofold and threefold, and (charged) with riches and virile energies, are manifest.

english translation

ye a॒gnayo॒ na zozu॑cannidhA॒nA dviryattrirma॒ruto॑ vAvR॒dhanta॑ | a॒re॒Navo॑ hira॒NyayA॑sa eSAM sA॒kaM nR॒mNaiH pauMsye॑bhizca bhUvan || ye agnayo na zozucannidhAnA dviryattrirmaruto vAvRdhanta | areNavo hiraNyayAsa eSAM sAkaM nRmNaiH pauMsyebhizca bhUvan ||

रु॒द्रस्य॒ ये मी॒ळ्हुष॒: सन्ति॑ पु॒त्रा याँश्चो॒ नु दाधृ॑वि॒र्भर॑ध्यै । वि॒दे हि मा॒ता म॒हो म॒ही षा सेत्पृश्नि॑: सु॒भ्वे॒३॒॑ गर्भ॒माधा॑त् ॥ रुद्रस्य ये मीळ्हुषः सन्ति पुत्रा याँश्चो नु दाधृविर्भरध्यै । विदे हि माता महो मही षा सेत्पृश्निः सुभ्वे गर्भमाधात् ॥

sanskrit

They (who are) the sons of the showerer Rudra, whom the nursing (firmamen is able) to sustain, and of whom, the mighty ones, it is known that the great Pṛśni has received the germ for the benefit (of man).

english translation

ru॒drasya॒ ye mI॒LhuSa॒: santi॑ pu॒trA yA~zco॒ nu dAdhR॑vi॒rbhara॑dhyai | vi॒de hi mA॒tA ma॒ho ma॒hI SA setpRzni॑: su॒bhve॒3॒॑ garbha॒mAdhA॑t || rudrasya ye mILhuSaH santi putrA yA~zco nu dAdhRvirbharadhyai | vide hi mAtA maho mahI SA setpRzniH subhve garbhamAdhAt ||

न य ईष॑न्ते ज॒नुषोऽया॒ न्व१॒॑न्तः सन्तो॑ऽव॒द्यानि॑ पुना॒नाः । निर्यद्दु॒ह्रे शुच॒योऽनु॒ जोष॒मनु॑ श्रि॒या त॒न्व॑मु॒क्षमा॑णाः ॥ न य ईषन्ते जनुषोऽया न्वन्तः सन्तोऽवद्यानि पुनानाः । निर्यद्दुह्रे शुचयोऽनु जोषमनु श्रिया तन्वमुक्षमाणाः ॥

sanskrit

They who approach not to men any conveyance, being already in their hearts, purifying their defects; when brilliant they supply their milk (the rain) for the gratification (of their worshippers); they are watering the earth (manifesting their collective); from with splendour.

english translation

na ya ISa॑nte ja॒nuSo'yA॒ nva1॒॑ntaH santo॑'va॒dyAni॑ punA॒nAH | niryaddu॒hre zuca॒yo'nu॒ joSa॒manu॑ zri॒yA ta॒nva॑mu॒kSamA॑NAH || na ya ISante januSo'yA nvantaH santo'vadyAni punAnAH | niryadduhre zucayo'nu joSamanu zriyA tanvamukSamANAH ||

म॒क्षू न येषु॑ दो॒हसे॑ चिद॒या आ नाम॑ धृ॒ष्णु मारु॑तं॒ दधा॑नाः । न ये स्तौ॒ना अ॒यासो॑ म॒ह्ना नू चि॑त्सु॒दानु॒रव॑ यासदु॒ग्रान् ॥ मक्षू न येषु दोहसे चिदया आ नाम धृष्णु मारुतं दधानाः । न ये स्तौना अयासो मह्ना नू चित्सुदानुरव यासदुग्रान् ॥

Approaching nigh to whom, and repeating the mighty name of the Maruts, (the worshipper is able) quickly to obtain (his wishes); the liberal donor pacifies the angry Maruts, who are otherwise in their might the resistless plural nderers (of their wealth).

english translation

ma॒kSU na yeSu॑ do॒hase॑ cida॒yA A nAma॑ dhR॒SNu mAru॑taM॒ dadhA॑nAH | na ye stau॒nA a॒yAso॑ ma॒hnA nU ci॑tsu॒dAnu॒rava॑ yAsadu॒grAn || makSU na yeSu dohase cidayA A nAma dhRSNu mArutaM dadhAnAH | na ye staunA ayAso mahnA nU citsudAnurava yAsadugrAn ||
