अध॑ स्मा नो वृ॒धे भ॒वेन्द्र॑ ना॒यम॑वा यु॒धि । यद॒न्तरि॑क्षे प॒तय॑न्ति प॒र्णिनो॑ दि॒द्यव॑स्ति॒ग्ममू॑र्धानः ॥ अध स्मा नो वृधे भवेन्द्र नायमवा युधि । यदन्तरिक्षे पतयन्ति पर्णिनो दिद्यवस्तिग्ममूर्धानः ॥
Indra, be (favourable) at present to our success; protect our leader in battle when the feathered, sharp-pointed, shining shafts fall from the sky.
english translation
यत्र॒ शूरा॑सस्त॒न्वो॑ वितन्व॒ते प्रि॒या शर्म॑ पितॄ॒णाम् । अध॑ स्मा यच्छ त॒न्वे॒३॒॑ तने॑ च छ॒र्दिर॒चित्तं॑ या॒वय॒ द्वेष॑: ॥ यत्र शूरासस्तन्वो वितन्वते प्रिया शर्म पितॄणाम् । अध स्मा यच्छ तन्वे तने च छर्दिरचित्तं यावय द्वेषः ॥
When heroes rest their person ns (until abandoning) the plural asant abodes of their progenitors; grant us, for ourselves and our posterity, an unsuspected defence, and scatter our enemies.
english translation
यदि॑न्द्र॒ सर्गे॒ अर्व॑तश्चो॒दया॑से महाध॒ने । अ॒स॒म॒ने अध्व॑नि वृजि॒ने प॒थि श्ये॒नाँ इ॑व श्रवस्य॒तः ॥ यदिन्द्र सर्गे अर्वतश्चोदयासे महाधने । असमने अध्वनि वृजिने पथि श्येनाँ इव श्रवस्यतः ॥
(At the time) when, in the effort (made) in an arduous conflict, you urge our horses over an uneven road, like falcons darting upon their food through the difficult path (of the firmament).
english translation
सिन्धूँ॑रिव प्रव॒ण आ॑शु॒या य॒तो यदि॒ क्लोश॒मनु॒ ष्वणि॑ । आ ये वयो॒ न वर्वृ॑त॒त्यामि॑षि गृभी॒ता बा॒ह्वोर्गवि॑ ॥ सिन्धूँरिव प्रवण आशुया यतो यदि क्लोशमनु ष्वणि । आ ये वयो न वर्वृतत्यामिषि गृभीता बाह्वोर्गवि ॥
Rushing rapidly like rivers in their downward course and although neighing loudly through trro, they yet, tight-girthed, return repeatedly (to the conflict) for cattle, like birds darting on their prey.
