यश्चि॒केत॒ स सु॒क्रतु॑र्देव॒त्रा स ब्र॑वीतु नः । वरु॑णो॒ यस्य॑ दर्श॒तो मि॒त्रो वा॒ वन॑ते॒ गिर॑: ॥ यश्चिकेत स सुक्रतुर्देवत्रा स ब्रवीतु नः । वरुणो यस्य दर्शतो मित्रो वा वनते गिरः ॥
He who knows (how to honour you two) among the gods, is ghe performer of good works; let him, communicate (that knowledge) to us, he of whom the graceful Varuṇa or Mitra accepts the laudation.
english translation
ता हि श्रेष्ठ॑वर्चसा॒ राजा॑ना दीर्घ॒श्रुत्त॑मा । ता सत्प॑ती ऋता॒वृध॑ ऋ॒तावा॑ना॒ जने॑जने ॥ ता हि श्रेष्ठवर्चसा राजाना दीर्घश्रुत्तमा । ता सत्पती ऋतावृध ऋतावाना जनेजने ॥
They two, verily excelling in radiance, royal (deities), who hear (invocations) from the greatest distance; lords of the virtuous, favourers of the sacrifice, are in movement (for the good of) each individual man.
english translation
ता वा॑मिया॒नोऽव॑से॒ पूर्वा॒ उप॑ ब्रुवे॒ सचा॑ । स्वश्वा॑स॒: सु चे॒तुना॒ वाजाँ॑ अ॒भि प्र दा॒वने॑ ॥ ता वामियानोऽवसे पूर्वा उप ब्रुवे सचा । स्वश्वासः सु चेतुना वाजाँ अभि प्र दावने ॥
Approaching you, ancient (divinities), I invoke you together for protection; possessed of good steeds, (we praise you) who are provident to give us food.
english translation
मि॒त्रो अं॒होश्चि॒दादु॒रु क्षया॑य गा॒तुं व॑नते । मि॒त्रस्य॒ हि प्र॒तूर्व॑तः सुम॒तिरस्ति॑ विध॒तः ॥ मित्रो अंहोश्चिदादुरु क्षयाय गातुं वनते । मित्रस्य हि प्रतूर्वतः सुमतिरस्ति विधतः ॥
Mitra grants even to the sinful (worshipper) the (means of) repairing to his spacious dwelling; the favour of Mitra, the destroyer fo foes, is (granted) to (his) adorer.
english translation
व॒यं मि॒त्रस्याव॑सि॒ स्याम॑ स॒प्रथ॑स्तमे । अ॒ने॒हस॒स्त्वोत॑यः स॒त्रा वरु॑णशेषसः ॥ वयं मित्रस्यावसि स्याम सप्रथस्तमे । अनेहसस्त्वोतयः सत्रा वरुणशेषसः ॥
May we ever be in the comprehensive guardianship of Mitra, and, free from sin, enjoy, (Mitra), your protection, being at the same time the children of Varuṇa.
