होता॑जनिष्ट॒ चेत॑नः पि॒ता पि॒तृभ्य॑ ऊ॒तये॑ । प्र॒यक्ष॒ञ्जेन्यं॒ वसु॑ श॒केम॑ वा॒जिनो॒ यम॑म् ॥ होताजनिष्ट चेतनः पिता पितृभ्य ऊतये । प्रयक्षञ्जेन्यं वसु शकेम वाजिनो यमम् ॥

An invoker (of the gods), our instrumental uctor and protector has been born for the preservation of our patrons; may we, possessed of (sacrificial) food, be able to acquire worshipful, conquerable, and manageable riches.

english translation

hotA॑janiSTa॒ ceta॑naH pi॒tA pi॒tRbhya॑ U॒taye॑ | pra॒yakSa॒JjenyaM॒ vasu॑ za॒kema॑ vA॒jino॒ yama॑m || hotAjaniSTa cetanaH pitA pitRbhya Utaye | prayakSaJjenyaM vasu zakema vAjino yamam ||

आ यस्मि॑न्त्स॒प्त र॒श्मय॑स्त॒ता य॒ज्ञस्य॑ ने॒तरि॑ । म॒नु॒ष्वद्दैव्य॑मष्ट॒मं पोता॒ विश्वं॒ तदि॑न्वति ॥ आ यस्मिन्त्सप्त रश्मयस्तता यज्ञस्य नेतरि । मनुष्वद्दैव्यमष्टमं पोता विश्वं तदिन्वति ॥

In whom, as conductor of the sacrifice, the seven rays are manifested, and who, as a human Potā, officiate in the eighth plural ce to perfect every divine (rite).

english translation

A yasmi॑ntsa॒pta ra॒zmaya॑sta॒tA ya॒jJasya॑ ne॒tari॑ | ma॒nu॒Svaddaivya॑maSTa॒maM potA॒ vizvaM॒ tadi॑nvati || A yasmintsapta razmayastatA yajJasya netari | manuSvaddaivyamaSTamaM potA vizvaM tadinvati ||

द॒ध॒न्वे वा॒ यदी॒मनु॒ वोच॒द्ब्रह्मा॑णि॒ वेरु॒ तत् । परि॒ विश्वा॑नि॒ काव्या॑ ने॒मिश्च॒क्रमि॑वाभवत् ॥ दधन्वे वा यदीमनु वोचद्ब्रह्माणि वेरु तत् । परि विश्वानि काव्या नेमिश्चक्रमिवाभवत् ॥

Whatever (offerings the priest) presents, whatever prayers he recites, he, (Agni), knows them all; he comprehends all priestly acts, as the circumference (includes the spokes) of a wheel.

english translation

da॒dha॒nve vA॒ yadI॒manu॒ voca॒dbrahmA॑Ni॒ veru॒ tat | pari॒ vizvA॑ni॒ kAvyA॑ ne॒mizca॒krami॑vAbhavat || dadhanve vA yadImanu vocadbrahmANi veru tat | pari vizvAni kAvyA nemizcakramivAbhavat ||

सा॒कं हि शुचि॑ना॒ शुचि॑: प्रशा॒स्ता क्रतु॒नाज॑नि । वि॒द्वाँ अ॑स्य व्र॒ता ध्रु॒वा व॒या इ॒वानु॑ रोहते ॥ साकं हि शुचिना शुचिः प्रशास्ता क्रतुनाजनि । विद्वाँ अस्य व्रता ध्रुवा वया इवानु रोहते ॥

The pure regulator (of the sacrifice) is born verily together with the holy act; the wise (worshipper) performs all his, (Agni's), prescribed rites in succession, as the branches spring (from a common stem).

english translation

sA॒kaM hi zuci॑nA॒ zuci॑: prazA॒stA kratu॒nAja॑ni | vi॒dvA~ a॑sya vra॒tA dhru॒vA va॒yA i॒vAnu॑ rohate || sAkaM hi zucinA zuciH prazAstA kratunAjani | vidvA~ asya vratA dhruvA vayA ivAnu rohate ||

ता अ॑स्य॒ वर्ण॑मा॒युवो॒ नेष्टु॑: सचन्त धे॒नव॑: । कु॒वित्ति॒सृभ्य॒ आ वरं॒ स्वसा॑रो॒ या इ॒दं य॒युः ॥ ता अस्य वर्णमायुवो नेष्टुः सचन्त धेनवः । कुवित्तिसृभ्य आ वरं स्वसारो या इदं ययुः ॥

The sister fingers, which are the kine of the Neṣṭā, are those which accomplish him, (Agni's), worship; and in various ways are combined for this purpose through the three (sacred fires).

english translation

tA a॑sya॒ varNa॑mA॒yuvo॒ neSTu॑: sacanta dhe॒nava॑: | ku॒vitti॒sRbhya॒ A varaM॒ svasA॑ro॒ yA i॒daM ya॒yuH || tA asya varNamAyuvo neSTuH sacanta dhenavaH | kuvittisRbhya A varaM svasAro yA idaM yayuH ||
