तद॑स्मै॒ नव्य॑मङ्गिर॒स्वद॑र्चत॒ शुष्मा॒ यद॑स्य प्र॒त्नथो॒दीर॑ते । विश्वा॒ यद्गो॒त्रा सह॑सा॒ परी॑वृता॒ मदे॒ सोम॑स्य दृंहि॒तान्यैर॑यत् ॥ तदस्मै नव्यमङ्गिरस्वदर्चत शुष्मा यदस्य प्रत्नथोदीरते । विश्वा यद्गोत्रा सहसा परीवृता मदे सोमस्य दृंहितान्यैरयत् ॥

Address, worshippers, after the manner of Aṅgiras, a new (hymn) to that Indra, whose withering (energies) were developed of old; who, in the exhilaration of the Soma, forced open the obstructed and solid clouds.

english translation

स भू॑तु॒ यो ह॑ प्रथ॒माय॒ धाय॑स॒ ओजो॒ मिमा॑नो महि॒मान॒माति॑रत् । शूरो॒ यो यु॒त्सु त॒न्वं॑ परि॒व्यत॑ शी॒र्षणि॒ द्यां म॑हि॒ना प्रत्य॑मुञ्चत ॥ स भूतु यो ह प्रथमाय धायस ओजो मिमानो महिमानमातिरत् । शूरो यो युत्सु तन्वं परिव्यत शीर्षणि द्यां महिना प्रत्यमुञ्चत ॥

May that (Indra) be (excited), who, manifesting his energy, exerted his might for the first drinking of the Soma; a hero, who in combats protected his own person n and by his greatness sustained the heaven upon his head.

english translation

अधा॑कृणोः प्रथ॒मं वी॒र्यं॑ म॒हद्यद॒स्याग्रे॒ ब्रह्म॑णा॒ शुष्म॒मैर॑यः । र॒थे॒ष्ठेन॒ हर्य॑श्वेन॒ विच्यु॑ता॒: प्र जी॒रय॑: सिस्रते स॒ध्र्य१॒॑क्पृथ॑क् ॥ अधाकृणोः प्रथमं वीर्यं महद्यदस्याग्रे ब्रह्मणा शुष्ममैरयः । रथेष्ठेन हर्यश्वेन विच्युताः प्र जीरयः सिस्रते सध्र्यक्पृथक् ॥

Verily, Indra, you have displayed your first great prowess, when, (propitiated) by the prayer (of the worshipper), you have put forth your withering (vigour) in his presence; and when the congregated enemies (of the gods), hurled down by you in youur chariot, drawn by your horses, fled, scattered.

english translation

अधा॒ यो विश्वा॒ भुव॑ना॒भि म॒ज्मने॑शान॒कृत्प्रव॑या अ॒भ्यव॑र्धत । आद्रोद॑सी॒ ज्योति॑षा॒ वह्नि॒रात॑नो॒त्सीव्य॒न्तमां॑सि॒ दुधि॑ता॒ सम॑व्ययत् ॥ अधा यो विश्वा भुवनाभि मज्मनेशानकृत्प्रवया अभ्यवर्धत । आद्रोदसी ज्योतिषा वह्निरातनोत्सीव्यन्तमांसि दुधिता समव्ययत् ॥

He indeed, the ancient Indra, making himself by his might sovereign over all worlds, became supreme over (all); and thenceforth sustaining heaven and earth, he overspread them with effulgence, and scattering the malignant glooms, he pervaded (all things).

english translation

स प्रा॒चीना॒न्पर्व॑तान्दृंह॒दोज॑साधरा॒चीन॑मकृणोद॒पामप॑: । अधा॑रयत्पृथि॒वीं वि॒श्वधा॑यस॒मस्त॑भ्नान्मा॒यया॒ द्याम॑व॒स्रस॑: ॥ स प्राचीनान्पर्वतान्दृंहदोजसाधराचीनमकृणोदपामपः । अधारयत्पृथिवीं विश्वधायसमस्तभ्नान्मायया द्यामवस्रसः ॥

By his strength, he fixed the wandering mountains; he directed the downward course of the waters; he upheld the earth, the nurse (of all creatures); and by his craft he stopped the heaven from falling.
