कद्ध॑ नू॒नं क॑धप्रियः पि॒ता पु॒त्रं न हस्त॑योः । द॒धि॒ध्वे वृ॑क्तबर्हिषः ॥ कद्ध नूनं कधप्रियः पिता पुत्रं न हस्तयोः । दधिध्वे वृक्तबर्हिषः ॥
Maruts, who are fond of praise, and for whom the sacred grass is trimmed, when will you take us by both hands as a father does his son?
english translation
क्व॑ नू॒नं कद्वो॒ अर्थं॒ गन्ता॑ दि॒वो न पृ॑थि॒व्याः । क्व॑ वो॒ गावो॒ न र॑ण्यन्ति ॥ क्व नूनं कद्वो अर्थं गन्ता दिवो न पृथिव्याः । क्व वो गावो न रण्यन्ति ॥
Where indeed are you (at present)? When will your arrival take plural ce? Pass from the heaven, not from the earth. Where do they worship you cry (to you) like cattle?
english translation
क्व॑ वः सु॒म्ना नव्यां॑सि॒ मरु॑त॒: क्व॑ सुवि॒ता । क्वो॒३॒॑ विश्वा॑नि॒ सौभ॑गा ॥ क्व वः सुम्ना नव्यांसि मरुतः क्व सुविता । क्वो विश्वानि सौभगा ॥
Where, Maruts, are your new treasures? Where your valuable (riches)? Where all your auspicious (gifts)?
english translation
यद्यू॒यं पृ॑श्निमातरो॒ मर्ता॑स॒: स्यात॑न । स्तो॒ता वो॑ अ॒मृत॑: स्यात् ॥ यद्यूयं पृश्निमातरो मर्तासः स्यातन । स्तोता वो अमृतः स्यात् ॥
That you, sons of Pṛśni, may become mortals, and your panegyrist become immortal.
english translation
मा वो॑ मृ॒गो न यव॑से जरि॒ता भू॒दजो॑ष्यः । प॒था य॒मस्य॑ गा॒दुप॑ ॥ मा वो मृगो न यवसे जरिता भूदजोष्यः । पथा यमस्य गादुप ॥
Never may your worshipper be indifferent to you, as a deer (is never indifferent) to pasture, so that he may not tread the path of Yama.
