प्रा॒त॒र्युजा॒ वि बो॑धया॒श्विना॒वेह ग॑च्छताम् । अ॒स्य सोम॑स्य पी॒तये॑ ॥ प्रातर्युजा वि बोधयाश्विनावेह गच्छताम् । अस्य सोमस्य पीतये ॥

Awaken, the Aśvins, associated for the morning sacrifice; let them both come hither to drink of this Soma juice.

english translation

prA॒ta॒ryujA॒ vi bo॑dhayA॒zvinA॒veha ga॑cchatAm । a॒sya soma॑sya pI॒taye॑ ॥ prAtaryujA vi bodhayAzvinAveha gacchatAm । asya somasya pItaye ॥

या सु॒रथा॑ र॒थीत॑मो॒भा दे॒वा दि॑वि॒स्पृशा॑ । अ॒श्विना॒ ता ह॑वामहे ॥ या सुरथा रथीतमोभा देवा दिविस्पृशा । अश्विना ता हवामहे ॥

We invoke the two Aśvins, who are both divine, the best of charioteers, riding in an excellent car and attaining heaven.

english translation

yA su॒rathA॑ ra॒thIta॑mo॒bhA de॒vA di॑vi॒spRzA॑ । a॒zvinA॒ tA ha॑vAmahe ॥ yA surathA rathItamobhA devA divispRzA । azvinA tA havAmahe ॥

या वां॒ कशा॒ मधु॑म॒त्यश्वि॑ना सू॒नृता॑वती । तया॑ य॒ज्ञं मि॑मिक्षतम् ॥ या वां कशा मधुमत्यश्विना सूनृतावती । तया यज्ञं मिमिक्षतम् ॥

Aśvins, stir up (mimikṣatam = mix intimately, rapidly like a whip) the sacrifice with your whip that is wet the foam (of your horses), and lashing loudly.

english translation

yA vAM॒ kazA॒ madhu॑ma॒tyazvi॑nA sU॒nRtA॑vatI । tayA॑ ya॒jJaM mi॑mikSatam ॥ yA vAM kazA madhumatyazvinA sUnRtAvatI । tayA yajJaM mimikSatam ॥

न॒हि वा॒मस्ति॑ दूर॒के यत्रा॒ रथे॑न॒ गच्छ॑थः । अश्वि॑ना सो॒मिनो॑ गृ॒हम् ॥ नहि वामस्ति दूरके यत्रा रथेन गच्छथः । अश्विना सोमिनो गृहम् ॥

The abode of the offerer of the libation is not far from you, Aśvins, going thither in your car.

english translation

na॒hi vA॒masti॑ dUra॒ke yatrA॒ rathe॑na॒ gaccha॑thaH । azvi॑nA so॒mino॑ gR॒ham ॥ nahi vAmasti dUrake yatrA rathena gacchathaH । azvinA somino gRham ॥

हिर॑ण्यपाणिमू॒तये॑ सवि॒तार॒मुप॑ ह्वये । स चेत्ता॑ दे॒वता॑ प॒दम् ॥ हिरण्यपाणिमूतये सवितारमुप ह्वये । स चेत्ता देवता पदम् ॥

Invoke Savitā (Sun), the golden- handed, to protect me; he will appoint the station of the worshippers.
