मालिनं निहतं दृष्ट्वा सुमाली माल्यवानपि । सबलौ शोकसन्तप्तौ लङ्कामेव प्रधावितौ ॥ 7-7-46 ॥
Seeing Mali slain, Sumali and Malyavan too, burning with grief, fled together with their forces straight to Lanka.
english translation
गरुडस्तु समाश्वस्तः सन्निवृत्य यथा पुरा । राक्षसान्द्रावयामास पक्षवातेन कोपितः ॥ 7-7-47 ॥
But Garuda, having recovered, turned back as before, and enraged, drove off the rakshasas with the wind of his wings.
english translation
चक्रकृत्तास्यकमला गदासञ्चूर्णितोरसः । लाङ्गलग्लपितग्रीवा मुसलैर्भिन्नमस्तकाः ॥ 7-7-48 ॥
Their lotus-faces severed by the discus, their chests pulverized by the mace, their necks crushed by the plowshare, and their heads split by the pestles—
english translation
केचिच्चैवासिना छिन्नास्तथान्ये शरपीडिताः । निपेतुरम्बरात्तूर्णं राक्षसाः सागराम्भसि ॥ 7-7-49 ॥
and others cut down by the sword and tormented by arrows, the rakshasas fell swiftly from the sky into the waters of the ocean.
english translation
नारायणो बाणवराशनीभिर्विदारयामास धनुर्विमुक्तैः । नक्तञ्चरान्मुक्तविधूतकेशान्यथा ऽशनीभिः सतडिन्महाभ्राः ॥ 7-7-50 ॥
Narayana, with the finest of arrows like thunderbolts loosed from his bow, tore apart the night-rangers, their hair flung loose and disheveled, as great clouds charged with lightning are rent by the thunderbolts.
