सदेवासुरगन्धर्वं मुनिभिः साप्सरोगणम् । जगद्धि सर्वमस्वस्थं पितामहमुपस्थितम् ॥ 7-69-21 ॥

Indeed the whole world, together with the gods, the Asuras, and the Gandharvas, along with the sages and the throngs of Apsarases, grew distressed and approached the Grandfather.

english translation

उवाच देवदेवेशं वरदं प्रपितामहम् । देवानां भयसंमोहो लोकानां सङ्क्षयं प्रति ॥ 7-69-22 ॥

It addressed the boon-granting Great-Grandfather, lord of the lords of gods: 'There is a fear and bewilderment among the gods that portends the destruction of the worlds.'

english translation

नेदृशं दृष्टपूर्वं च न श्रुतं प्रपितामह । देवानां भयसम्मोहो लोकानां सङ्क्षयं प्रति ॥ 7-69-23 ॥

'Never before, O Great-Grandfather, has such a thing been seen or heard — this fear and bewilderment among the gods that portends the destruction of the worlds.'

english translation

तेषां तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा ब्रह्मा लोकपितामहः । भयकारणमाचष्ट लोकानामभयङ्करः । उवाच मधुरां वाणीं शृणुध्वं सर्वदेवताः ॥ 7-69-24 ॥

Hearing those words of theirs, Brahma, the Grandfather of the worlds, the bestower of fearlessness upon the worlds, explained the cause of the fear, and spoke these sweet words: 'Listen, all you deities.'

english translation

वधाय लवणस्याजौ शरः शत्रुघ्नधारितः । तेजसा तस्य सम्मूढाः सर्वे स्मः सुरसत्तमाः ॥ 7-69-25 ॥

'For the slaying of Lavana in battle, this arrow has been taken up by Shatrughna; by its energy we, the foremost of the gods, are all bewildered.'
