By the power of that spear, and likewise through his own wicked nature, he torments the three worlds, and the ascetics in particular.
english translation
Such is the power of Lavana, and such too is that spear, O Kakutstha; having heard the measure of it, you alone are our supreme refuge.
english translation
Many kings, O Rama, were in former times entreated for protection by the sages afflicted with fear, O hero, yet we know of no one who could be our deliverer.
english translation
Having heard that Ravana, together with his army and his mounts, has been slain, we know you, dear one, and no other king on earth, to be our protector; therefore we wish to be delivered, oppressed as we are by fear of Lavana.
english translation
Thus, O Rama, the cause of our fear that has arisen has been made known to you; you are able to ward it off, so fulfill that desire, O you of undiminished prowess.
