श्रुत्वा तूशनसं क्रुद्धं तदा ऽ ऽर्तो नहुषात्मजः । जरां परमिकां प्राप्य यदुं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥ 7-59-1 ॥
When the son of Nahusha heard that Ushanas was enraged, he was stricken with grief; and having been afflicted with extreme old age, he spoke these words to Yadu.
english translation
यदो त्वमसि धर्मज्ञो मदर्थं प्रतिगृह्यताम् । जरां परमिकां पुत्र भोगै रंस्ये महायशः ॥ 7-59-2 ॥
"O Yadu, you are one who knows dharma; for my sake let this be accepted. Take upon yourself this extreme old age, my son, O greatly renowned one, that I may enjoy the pleasures of the senses."
english translation
न तावत्कृतकृत्यो ऽस्मि विषयेषु नरर्षभ । अनुभूय तदा कामं ततः प्राप्स्याम्यहं जराम् ॥ 7-59-3 ॥
"For I have not yet had my fill of the objects of sense, O bull among men. When I have enjoyed my desires, then I shall take back this old age."
english translation
यदुस्तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा प्रत्युवाच नरर्षभम् । पुत्रस्ते दयितः पूरुः प्रतिगृह्णातु वै जराम् ॥ 7-59-4 ॥
Hearing those words, Yadu replied to that bull among men: "Let Puru, your beloved son, take this old age upon himself."
english translation
बहिष्कृतो ऽहमर्थेषु सन्निकर्षाच्च पार्थिव । प्रतिगृह्णातु वै राजन्क सहाश्नाति भोजनम् ॥ 7-59-5 ॥
"I have been excluded from enjoyments and from your near presence, O king. Let him take it upon himself, O king, who eats his food in your company."
