पूरुस्तु दयितो राज्ञो गुणैर्मातृकृतेन च । ततो दुःखसमाविष्टो यदुर्मातरमब्रवीत् ॥ 7-58-11 ॥
But Puru was dear to the king, both for his own virtues and for what his mother contrived; and so Yadu, overcome with grief, spoke to his mother.
english translation
भार्गवस्य कुले जाता देवस्याक्लिष्टकर्मणः । सहसे हृद्गतं दुःखमवमानं च दुःसहम् ॥ 7-58-12 ॥
"You, born in the line of Bhargava, the divine sage of untiring deeds, endure this sorrow lodged in your heart and this dishonor that is unbearable."
english translation
आवां च सहितौ देवि प्रविशाव हुताशनम् । राजा तु रमतां सार्धं दैत्यपुत्र्या बहुक्षपाः ॥ 7-58-13 ॥
"Let the two of us together, O goddess, enter the consuming fire; let the king take his pleasure for many nights with the daughter of the Daitya."
english translation
यदि वा सहनीयं ते मामनुज्ञातुमर्हसि । क्षम त्वं न क्षमिष्ये ऽहं मरिष्यामि न संशयः ॥ 7-58-14 ॥
"Or, if this is to be borne by you, you ought to grant me leave: do you endure it, but I will not endure it; I shall die, there is no doubt."
english translation
पुत्रस्य भाषितं श्रुत्वा परमार्तस्य रोदतः । देवयानी तु सङ्क्रुद्धा सस्मार पितरं तदा ॥ 7-58-15 ॥
Hearing the words of her son, who was deeply afflicted and weeping, Devayani then, filled with wrath, called her father to mind.
