ते पिबन्तः सुगन्धीनि मधूनि मधुपिङ्गलाः । मांसानि च सुमृष्टानि मूलानि च फलानि च ॥ 7-39-26 ॥
Those honey-tawny monkeys drank fragrant meads and ate well-prepared meats, roots, and fruits.
english translation
एवं तेषां निवसतां मासः साग्रो ययौ तदा । मुहूर्तमिव ते सर्वे रामभक्त्या च मेनिरे ॥ 7-39-27 ॥
While they dwelt thus, a full month and more then passed away, yet to all of them, through their devotion to Rama, it seemed but a single moment.
english translation
रामो ऽपि रेमे तैः सार्धं वानरैः कामरूपिभिः । राक्षसैश्च महावीर्यैर्ऋक्षैश्चैव महाबलैः ॥ 7-39-28 ॥
Rama too took his delight together with those monkeys who could change their form at will, with the rakshasas of great valor, and with the mighty bears.
english translation
एवं तेषां ययौ मासो द्वितीयः शिशिरः सुखम् । वानराणां प्रहृष्टानां राक्षसानां च सर्वशः ॥ 7-39-29 ॥
Thus a second month, the cool season, passed pleasantly for them, for the delighted monkeys and the rakshasas on every side.
english translation
इक्ष्वाकुनगरे रम्ये परां प्रीतिमुपासताम् । रामस्य प्रीतिकरणैः कालस्तेषां सुखं ययौ ॥ 7-39-30 ॥
Dwelling in the lovely city of the Ikshvakus, they enjoyed the highest delight; and through Rama's gracious attentions the time passed happily for them.
english translation
