असकृत्तद्भयाद्भीताः परित्यज्य स्वमालयम् । विद्रुताः सहिताः सर्वे प्रविष्टाः स्म रसातलम् ॥ 7-11-6 ॥
Time and again, terrified by that fear, abandoning our own dwelling, all of us together fled and entered the netherworld.
english translation
अस्मदीया च लङ्केयं नगरी राक्षसोचिता । निवेशिता तव भ्रात्रा धनाध्यक्षेण धीमता ॥ 7-11-7 ॥
And this our city of Lanka, fit for rakshasas, was settled by your brother, the wise lord of wealth (Kubera).
english translation
यदि नामात्र शक्यं स्यात्साम्ना दानेन वानघ । तरसा वा महाबाहो प्रत्यानेतुं कृतं भवेत् ॥ 7-11-8 ॥
"If indeed it might be possible here to recover it—whether by conciliation or by gift, O sinless one, or by force, O mighty-armed one—then the deed would be accomplished."
english translation
त्वं तु लङ्केश्वरस्तात भविष्यसि न संशयः । त्वया राक्षसवंशो ऽयं निमग्नो ऽपि समुद्धृतः । सर्वेषां नः प्रभुश्चैव भविष्यसि महाबल ॥ 7-11-9 ॥
"You, my dear, shall become the lord of Lanka, there is no doubt; by you this lineage of rakshasas, though sunk down, has been raised up again; and you, O one of great strength, shall become the lord of us all."
english translation
अथाब्रवीद्दशग्रीवो मातामहमुपस्थितम् । वित्तेशो गुरुरस्माकं नार्हसे वक्तुमीदृशम् ॥ 7-11-10 ॥
Then Dashagriva said to his maternal grandfather who stood before him: "The Lord of Wealth (Kubera) is our elder; you ought not to speak in such a manner."
