Phaladeepika
पणकरमिति केन्द्रादूर्ध्वमापोक्लिमन्तत्- परमथ चतुरस्त्रं नैधनं बन्धुभं च । अथ समुपचयानि व्योमशौर्यरिलाभा नवमसुतभयुग्मं स्यात् त्रिकोणं प्रशस्तम् ॥ १८॥
The houses next to the Kendras, i. e., the 2 nd, the 5 th, the 8 th and the 11 th are known as Panaphara . The 3 rd, the 6 th, the 9 th and the 12 th are Apoklima houses. The 4 th and the 8 th are designated Chaturasra houses. The 10 th, the 3 rd, the 6 th and the 11 th houses are called Upachaya ; the 9 th and the 5 th are known as Trikona or triangular houses and these are auspicious. Thus ends the first Adhyaya on "Definitions" in the work Phaladeepika composed by Mantreswara.
