‌तदसंख्येयवासनाभिश्चित्रमपि‌ ‌परार्थं‌ ‌संहत्यकारित्वात्‌ ‌॥४-२४॥

Though having countless desires, the mind-stuff exists for the sake of another [the Purusha] because it can act only in association with It.

वह चित्त अपने मिलजुलकर कार्य करने वाले स्वभाव के कारण अनगिनत वासनाओं से युक्त होते हुए भी दूसरों के लिए अर्थात आत्मा के लिए कार्य करता है ।
