अस्य विविधान् योगान् वक्ष्यामि समासतः प्रदेशिन्याः ॥ ऊर्ध्वनतलोलकम्पितविजृंभितोद्वाहितचलायाः ॥ ६६॥
I shall now briefly describe the various uses of this gesture, in which the index finger is raised, bent, moved sideways, shaken, stretched upward, and moved without rest.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptचक्रं तडित्पताकामञ्जर्यः कर्णचूलिकाश्चैव । कुटिलगतयश्च सर्वे निर्देश्याः साधुवादाश्च ॥ ६७॥
With this gesture, one can represent a discus, lightning, banners, clusters of blossoms, earrings, zigzag movements, and expressions of approbation.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptबालोरगबल्यवधूपदीपवल्लीलताशिखण्डाश्च । परिपतनवक्रमण्डलमभिनेयान्यूर्ध्वलोलितया ॥ ६८॥
With the upward and swaying movement of this gesture, one can represent a young serpent, a tender sprout, a young woman, a lamp, a creeper, a peacock’s crest, falling down, curves, and circular motions.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptवदनाम्यासे कुञ्चितविजृम्भिता वाक्यरूपणे कार्या । भूयश्चोर्ध्वविरचिता ताराघोणैकदण्डयष्टिषु च । विनताः च पुनः कार्या दंष्ट्रिषु च तथास्ययोगेन ॥ ६९॥
The Sūcīmukha hand, when curved near the mouth and slightly opened, should be used to represent speech or a sentence. When raised upwards, it should be employed to depict stars, the nose, the number one, a club, and a stick. When bent downwards, it should be used to indicate fanged beings, and when placed near the mouth, it should represent a creature with prominent teeth.

vadanAmyAse kuJcitavijRmbhitA vAkyarUpaNe kAryA | bhUyazcordhvaviracitA tArAghoNaikadaNDayaSTiSu ca | vinatAH ca punaH kAryA daMSTriSu ca tathAsyayogena || 69||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुनरपि मण्डलगतया सर्वग्रहणं तथैव लोकस्य । प्रणतोन्ती च कार्ये ह्याद्ये दीर्घे च दिवसे च ॥ ७०॥
By moving in a circular manner, the Sūcīmukha hand should be used to represent the act of taking away everything or encompassing the entire world. When bent downwards, it should indicate deep reverence or bowing, and when lowered near the mouth, it should signify a long day or prolonged study.
