उत्क्षिप्तवक्रा तु यदानामिका सकनीयसी । अस्यैव तु कपित्थस्य तदासो खटकामुखः ॥ ६१॥
When the ring finger and the little finger of the Kapittha hand are raised and bent, it is called Kaṭakāmukha.
english translation
utkSiptavakrA tu yadAnAmikA sakanIyasI | asyaiva tu kapitthasya tadAso khaTakAmukhaH || 61||

होत्रं हव्यं छत्रं प्रग्रहपरिकर्षणं व्यजनकञ्च । आदर्शधारणं खण्डनं तथा पेषणं चैव ॥ ६२॥
Kaṭakāmukha is used to represent sacrifice, oblation, holding an umbrella, drawing up reins, fanning, holding a mirror, cutting, and powdering.
hotraM havyaM chatraM pragrahaparikarSaNaM vyajanakaJca | AdarzadhAraNaM khaNDanaM tathA peSaNaM caiva || 62||

आयतदण्डग्रहणं मुक्ताप्रालम्बसंग्रहं चैव । स्रग्दामपुष्पमाला वस्त्रान्तालम्बनं चैव ॥ ६३॥
Kaṭakāmukha is also used to represent holding a long staff, grasping a pearl necklace, wearing garlands and flower wreaths, and gathering the ends of garments.
AyatadaNDagrahaNaM muktAprAlambasaMgrahaM caiva | sragdAmapuSpamAlA vastrAntAlambanaM caiva || 63||

मन्मथशरावकर्ष्णपुष्पवचयप्रतोदकार्याणि । अङ्कुशरज्वाकर्षणस्त्रीदर्शनमेव कार्यं च ॥ ६४॥
Kaṭakāmukha is also used to depict drawing Cupid’s arrow, plucking flowers, wielding a whip, pulling a goad or a rope, and representing a woman.
manmathazarAvakarSNapuSpavacayapratodakAryANi | aGkuzarajvAkarSaNastrIdarzanameva kAryaM ca || 64||

खटकाख्ये यदा हस्ते तर्जनी सम्प्रसारिता । हस्तः सूचीमुखो नाम तदा ज्ञेयः प्रयोक्तृभिः ॥ ६५॥
When the index finger is extended in the Kaṭakāmukha hand, it is known as the Sūcīmukha hand gesture.
khaTakAkhye yadA haste tarjanI samprasAritA | hastaH sUcImukho nAma tadA jJeyaH prayoktRbhiH || 65||
