विषण्णे मूर्च्छिते भीते जुगुप्साशोकपीडिते । ग्लाने स्वप्ने विहस्ते च निश्चेष्टे तन्द्रिते जडे ॥ १७७॥
In states of sadness, fainting, fear, disgust, sorrow, fatigue, dreaming, helplessness, drowsiness, inertness, and unconsciousness, hand gestures should not be used.

viSaNNe mUrcchite bhIte jugupsAzokapIDite । glAne svapne vihaste ca nizceSTe tandrite jaDe ॥ 177॥
