एतेन धैर्यमदगर्वसौष्ठवौत्सुक्यविक्रमाटोपाः । अभिमानावष्टम्भः स्तम्भस्थैर्यादय कार्याः ॥ १४६॥
By this hand gesture (Niṣadha), patience, intoxication, pride, elegance, eagerness, valour, arrogance, self-conceit, haughtiness, motionlessness, steadiness, and similar states are to be represented.

etena dhairyamadagarvasauSThavautsukyavikramATopAH । abhimAnAvaSTambhaH stambhasthairyAdaya kAryAH ॥ 146॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptज्ञेयो वै निषधो नाम हंसपक्षौ पराङ्गमुखौ । जालवातायनादीनां प्रयोक्तव्योऽभिघट्टने ॥ १४७॥
The hand gesture known as Niṣadha, with Haṁsapakṣa hands turned outward, is to be used in representing lattice windows and similar objects, as well as in striking actions.

jJeyo vai niSadho nAma haMsapakSau parAGgamukhau । jAlavAtAyanAdInAM prayoktavyo'bhighaTTane ॥ 147॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअंसौ प्रशिथिलौ मुक्तौ पताकौ तु प्रलम्बितौ । यदा भवेतां करणे स दोल इति संज्ञितः ॥ १४८॥
Dola—When the two shoulders are at ease in a Karaṇa and the two Patāka hands are hanging down the Dola hand is produced.
english translation
aMsau prazithilau muktau patAkau tu pralambitau । yadA bhavetAM karaNe sa dola iti saMjJitaH ॥ 148॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसंभ्रमविषादमूर्च्छितमदाभिघाते तथैव चाऽवेगे । व्याधिप्लुते च शस्त्रक्षते च कार्योऽभिनयोगः ॥ १४९॥
(Uses): It is to be used in indicating hurry, sadness, fainting, fit of intoxication, excitement, state of illness and wound by a weapon.

saMbhramaviSAdamUrcchitamadAbhighAte tathaiva cA'vege । vyAdhiplute ca zastrakSate ca kAryo'bhinayogaH ॥ 149॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयस्तु सर्पशिराः प्रोक्तस्तस्याङ्गुलिनिरन्तरः । द्वितीयः पार्श्वसंश्लिष्टः स तु पुष्पपुटः स्मृतः ॥ १५०॥
Puṣpapuṭa—Two Sarpaśiraḥ hands with their fingers close to one another meeting on one side very closely will give rise to the Puṣpapuṭa hand.

yastu sarpazirAH proktastasyAGgulinirantaraH । dvitIyaH pArzvasaMzliSTaH sa tu puSpapuTaH smRtaH ॥ 150॥
