व्याकोशमध्या मधुरा स्थितताराभिलाषिणी । सानन्दाश्रुप्लुता दृष्टिः स्निग्धेयं रतिभावजा ॥ ५६॥

Snigdhā: The Glance which is not much widened (lit. medium widened), is sweet, and in which eyeballs are still, and there are tears of joy, is called Snigdhā (loving); it is used in love (lit. grows out of love).

english translation

vyAkozamadhyA madhurA sthitatArAbhilASiNI | sAnandAzruplutA dRSTiH snigdheyaM ratibhAvajA || 56||
