हर्षप्रसादजनिता कान्तात्यर्थं समन्यथा । सभ्रूक्षेपकटाक्षा च शृङ्गारे दृष्टिरिक्ष्यते ॥ ४६॥
Kāntā: When with a feeling of love a person contracts his eyebrows and castes a sidelong look, he is said to have a Kāntā (pleasing) Glance which has its origin in joy and pleasure. It is used in the Erotic Sentiment.
english translation
harSaprasAdajanitA kAntAtyarthaM samanyathA । sabhrUkSepakaTAkSA ca zaRGgAre dRSTirikSyate ॥ 46॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रोद्वृत्तनिष्टब्धपुटा स्फुरदुद्वृत्ततारका । दृष्टिर्भयानाकात्यर्थं भीता ज्ञेया भयानके ॥ ४७॥
Bhayānakā: The Glance in which the eyelids are drawn up and fixed, and the eyeballs are gleaming and turning up is called Bhayānakā (terrible). It indicates a great fear and is used in the Terrible Sentiment.

prodvRttaniSTabdhapuTA sphuradudvRttatArakA । dRSTirbhayAnAkAtyarthaM bhItA jJeyA bhayAnake ॥ 47॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptक्रमादाकुञ्चितपुटा विभ्रान्ताकुलतारका । हास्या दृष्टिस्तु कर्तव्या कुहकाभिनयं प्रति ॥ ४८॥
Hāsyā: In the Hāsyā (smiling) Glance the two eyelids are by turns contracted, and they open with the eyeballs moving and slightly visible; it should be used in representing jugglery.

kramAdAkuJcitapuTA vibhrAntAkulatArakA । hAsyA dRSTistu kartavyA kuhakAbhinayaM prati ॥ 48॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपतितोर्ध्वपुटा सास्रा मन्युमन्थरतारका । नासाग्रानुगता दृष्टिः करुणा करुणे रसे ॥ ४९॥
Karuṇā: The Glance in which the upper eyelid has descended, the eyeball is at rest due to mental agony, and the gaze is fixed at the tip of the nose, and there is tear, is called Karuṇā (pathetic).

patitordhvapuTA sAsrA manyumantharatArakA । nAsAgrAnugatA dRSTiH karuNA karuNe rase ॥ 49॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptया त्वाकुञ्चितपक्ष्माग्रा साश्चर्योद्धत्ततारका । सौम्या विकसितान्ता च साद्भुता दृष्टिरद्भुते॥ ५०॥
Adbhutā: The Glance in which eyelashes are slightly curved at the end, eyeballs are raised in wonder, and the eyes are charmingly windened till the end, is called the Adbhutā (of wonder).
