स्वाभाविका चेति बुधैः षड्विधा नासिका स्मृता । नता मुहुःश्लिष्टपुटा मन्दा तु निभृता स्मृता ॥ १३१॥
he wise say that the nose is of six kinds: Svābhāvikā and so on. Natā—lobes cling for a while ॥ to the base॥ Mandā—lobes are at rest.

svAbhAvikA ceti budhaiH SaDvidhA nAsikA smRtA । natA muhuHzliSTapuTA mandA tu nibhRtA smRtA ॥ 131॥

Vikṛṣṭā—lobes are blown. Socchvāsā—lobes when air is drawn in. Vikūṇitā—lobes in the contracted nose. Svābhāvikā—lobes in the natural nose.

vikRSTotphullitapuTA socchvAsA kRSTamArutA । vikUNitA saMkucitA samA svAbhAvikA smRtA ॥ 132॥

This is the characteristic of the nose. Understand its application: it is used in situations involving intoxication, trembling, and in pleasing women.

"In the case of sighing, the nose should be depicted as bent by performers of drama. It is considered bent when breathing is interrupted, during soft crying, and with heavy breaths."

niHzvAse ca natA kAryA nAsikA nATyayoktRbhiH । vicchinnamandarudite socchvAse ca natA smRtA ॥ 134॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिर्वेगौत्सुक्यचिन्तासु मन्दा शोके च योजयेत् । तीव्रगन्धे विकृष्टां तौ रौद्रे वीरे तथैव च ॥ १३५॥
Mandā (gentle nose movement) should be used in states of indifference, eagerness, anxiety, and grief. Vikṛṣṭā (drawn-out nose movement) is to be applied in cases of intense smell, as well as in the Furious and Heroic Sentiments.
