वस्तुशाखाख्यमित्येतद्गदितं त्वपरान्तकम् । यथा शाखा तथैवास्य प्रतिशाखा विधीयते ॥ २४१॥
This is called the Śākhā of the Vastu, and it is termed Aparāntaka. Just as there is a Śākhā, so too its Pratiśākhā is to be arranged.

पश्चिमार्धसमा सा तु तथैवान्यपदा स्मृताः । शिरश्चैककलेनापि कर्तव्यं पञ्चपाणिना ॥ २४२॥
It is equal to the western half, and the remaining words are arranged likewise. Its Śīrṣaka is to be made with one Kalā using the Pañcapāṇi.

वृत्तौ निवृत्तयोगश्च गते वस्तुचतुष्टये । शाखायां प्रतिशाखायां विशेषः पश्चिमे त्वयम् ॥ २४३॥
In the Vṛtta, the combination with Nivṛtta is applied when the four Vastus are completed. In the Śākhā and Pratiśākhā, there is a special rule for the western half.

षट्कलापातसंयुक्ते तालिके तु ततः स्मृते । तथैककलयुक्तेऽस्ति विधिवत्पञ्चपाणिना ॥ २४४॥
When joined with six Kalā-pātas, it is to be known as Tālikā. And when joined with one Kalā, it is to be performed according to the prescribed rule with Pañcapāṇi.

यथाक्षरेणैव भवेदयनोरुपवर्तनम् । उपोहनं तु वस्त्वर्धं द्विकलं प्रत्युपोहनम् ॥ २४५॥
The Upavartana should be done according to the same syllable. The Upohana is half of the Vastu, and the Pratyupohana consists of two Kalās.
