य एवं विधिमुत्सृज्य यथेष्टं सम्प्रयोजयेत् । प्राप्नोत्यपचयं शीघ्रं तिर्यग्योनिं च गच्छति ॥ ९६॥

One who disregards this procedure and performs the ritual according to their own wish quickly experiences downfall and descends into the lower realms (such as animal or other inferior births).
english translation
ya evaM vidhimutsRjya yatheSTaM samprayojayet | prApnotyapacayaM zIghraM tiryagyoniM ca gacchati || 96||

यज्ञेन सम्मितं ह्येतद्रङ्गदैवतपूजनम् । अपूजयित्वा रङ्गं तु नैव प्रेक्षां प्रयोजयेत् ॥ ९७॥
sanskrit
One who has not properly performed the worship of the deity in the theatre through sacrifice and ritual, and has neglected the proper worship of the stage, should not engage in the act of performance or play.

yajJena sammitaM hyetadraGgadaivatapUjanam | apUjayitvA raGgaM tu naiva prekSAM prayojayet || 97||

पूजिताः पूजयन्त्येते मानिता मानयन्ति च । तस्मात्सर्वप्रयत्नेन कर्तव्यं रङ्गपूजनम् ॥ ९८॥

Those who are worshiped, continue to worship; those who are honored, continue to honor. Therefore, the worship of the stage must be performed with all effort.

न तथा प्रदहत्यग्निः प्रभञ्जनसमीरितः । यथा ह्यपप्रयोगस्तु प्रयुक्तो दहति क्षणात् ॥ ९९॥

Fire, when fanned by the wind, does not burn as quickly as when it is used improperly, which causes it to burn immediately.

na tathA pradahatyagniH prabhaJjanasamIritaH | yathA hyapaprayogastu prayukto dahati kSaNAt || 99||

शास्त्रज्ञेन विनीतेन शुचिना दीक्षितेन च । नाट्याचार्येण शान्तेन कर्तव्यं रङ्गपूजनम् ॥१००॥
