Natyashastra
भोगिनीनां तथा चैव वस्त्रं चर्म कुथोऽपि वा । ब्राह्मणीतापसीनां च पट्टासनमथापि च ॥ २१९॥
For the king's consorts (bhoginīs), the seat should be made of cloth, skin, or a carpet (kutha). For the wives of Brāhmaṇas and female ascetics (tāpasīs), a wooden seat (paṭṭāsana) is to be assigned.
