पातालवासिनो ये च यक्षगुह्यकपन्नगाः । अधस्ताद्रङ्गपीठस्य रक्षणे ते नियोजिताः ॥९६॥
The beings who dwell in the netherworld, including the yakshas, guhyakas, and serpents, are assigned the task of guarding below the stage.

नायकं रक्षतीन्द्रस्तु नायिकां च सरस्वती । विदूषकमथौङ्कारः शेशास्तु प्रकृतिर्हरः ॥ ९७॥
Indra protects the hero, Saraswati protects the heroine, the clowns are represented by the sound of "aum," and the others are under the protection of Lord Shiva.

यान्येतानि नियुक्तानि दैवतानीह रक्षणे । एतान्येवाधिदैवानि भविष्यन्तीत्युवाच सः ॥ ९८॥
