पातालवासिनो ये च यक्षगुह्यकपन्नगाः । अधस्ताद्रङ्गपीठस्य रक्षणे ते नियोजिताः ॥९६॥
The beings who dwell in the netherworld, including the yakshas, guhyakas, and serpents, are assigned the task of guarding below the stage.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptनायकं रक्षतीन्द्रस्तु नायिकां च सरस्वती । विदूषकमथौङ्कारः शेशास्तु प्रकृतिर्हरः ॥ ९७॥
Indra protects the hero, Saraswati protects the heroine, the clowns are represented by the sound of "aum," and the others are under the protection of Lord Shiva.

nAyakaM rakSatIndrastu nAyikAM ca sarasvatI । vidUSakamathauGkAraH zezAstu prakRtirharaH ॥ 97॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयान्येतानि नियुक्तानि दैवतानीह रक्षणे । एतान्येवाधिदैवानि भविष्यन्तीत्युवाच सः ॥ ९८॥
The deities appointed here for protection will indeed become the presiding deities in the future, thus spoke he.

In the meantime, the grandfather, Brahma, addressed all the deities and said, "Let these obstacles be established through your words with the sound of the Sama Veda."
