भारतीं सात्वतीं चैव वृत्तिमारभटीं तथा । समाश्रितः प्रयोगस्तु प्रयुक्तो वै मया द्विजाः ॥ ४१॥
O Brahmins, I then prepared to give a performance (prayoga) in which I adopted the dramatic styles (vṛtti) such as the Verbal (bhāratī), the Grand (sāttvatī), and the Energetic (ārabhaṭī).
english translation
bhAratIM sAtvatIM caiva vRttimArabhaTIM tathA । samAzritaH prayogastu prayukto vai mayA dvijAH ॥ 41॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरिगृह्य प्रणम्याथ ब्रह्मा विज्ञापितो मया । अथाह मां सुरगुरुः कैशिकिमपि योजय ॥ ४२॥
Then, having bowed and approached Brahmā, I informed him. Thereupon, the guru of the gods, Brahmā, asked me to also incorporate the Graceful (kaiśikī) Style.
english translation
parigRhya praNamyAtha brahmA vijJApito mayA । athAha mAM suraguruH kaizikimapi yojaya ॥ 42॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयच्च तस्याः क्षमं द्रव्यं तद् ब्रूहि द्विजसत्तम । एवं तेनास्म्यभिहितः प्रत्युक्तश्च मया प्रभुः ॥ ४३॥
O best of the Brahmins, tell me what materials are suitable for this (Graceful) style. Thus, having been addressed by him, I replied to my Lord.
english translation
yacca tasyAH kSamaM dravyaM tad brUhi dvijasattama । evaM tenAsmyabhihitaH pratyuktazca mayA prabhuH ॥ 43॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदीयतां भगवन्द्रव्यं कैशिक्याः सम्प्रयोजकम् । नृत्ताङ्गहारसम्पन्ना रसभावक्रियात्मिका ॥ ४४॥
Let the materials necessary for the Graceful style be given, which are endowed with dance, ornaments, and are characterized by Sentiment, State, and action.

dIyatAM bhagavandravyaM kaizikyAH samprayojakam । nRttAGgahArasampannA rasabhAvakriyAtmikA ॥ 44॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदृष्टा मया भगवतो नीलकण्ठस्य नृत्यतः । कैशिकी ष्लक्ष्णनैपथ्या शृङ्गाररससम्भवा ॥ ४५॥
I have seen the Graceful style of Nīlakaṇṭha's (Śiva's) dance, which is smooth, appropriate for the stage, and born from the Erotic Sentiment.
