चिकित्सकानां सर्वेषां मिथ्याप्रचरतां दमः । अमानुषेषु प्रथमो मानुषेषु तु मध्यमः ॥ २८४ ॥

sanskrit

All physicians who treat (their patients) wrongly (shall pay) a fine; in the case of animals, the first (or lowest); in the case of human beings, the middlemost (amercement).

english translation

cikitsakAnAM sarveSAM mithyApracaratAM damaH । amAnuSeSu prathamo mAnuSeSu tu madhyamaH ॥ 284 ॥
