अवगूर्य त्वब्दशतं सहस्रमभिहत्य च । जिघांसया ब्राह्मणस्य नरकं प्रतिपद्यते ॥ २०६ ॥

sanskrit

But he who, intending to hurt a Brahmana, has threatened (him with a stick and the like) shall remain in hell during a hundred years; he who (actually) struck him, during one thousand years.

english translation

avagUrya tvabdazataM sahasramabhihatya ca । jighAMsayA brAhmaNasya narakaM pratipadyate ॥ 206 ॥
