एवं सर्वं स सृष्ट्वैदं मां चाचिन्त्यपराक्रमः । आत्मन्यन्तर्दधे भूयः कालं कालेन पीडयन् ॥ ५१ ॥
When he whose power is incomprehensible, had thus produced the universe and men, he disappeared in himself, repeatedly suppressing one period by means of the other.

evaM sarvaM sa sRSTvaidaM mAM cAcintyaparAkramaH | Atmanyantardadhe bhUyaH kAlaM kAlena pIDayan || 51 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदा स देवो जागर्ति तदेवं चेष्टते जगत् । यदा स्वपिति शान्तात्मा तदा सर्वं निमीलति ॥ ५२ ॥
When that divine one wakes, then this world stirs; when he slumbers tranquilly, then the universe sinks to sleep.

yadA sa devo jAgarti tadevaM ceSTate jagat | yadA svapiti zAntAtmA tadA sarvaM nimIlati || 52 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिन् स्वपिति तु स्वस्थे कर्मात्मानः शरीरिणः । स्वकर्मभ्यो निवर्तन्ते मनश्च ग्लानिमृच्छति ॥ ५३ ॥
But when he reposes in calm sleep, the corporeal beings whose nature is action, desist from their actions and mind becomes inert.

tasmin svapiti tu svasthe karmAtmAnaH zarIriNaH | svakarmabhyo nivartante manazca glAnimRcchati || 53 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयुगपत् तु प्रलीयन्ते यदा तस्मिन् महात्मनि । तदाऽयं सर्वभूतात्मा सुखं स्वपिति निर्वृतः ॥ ५४ ॥
When they are absorbed all at once in that great soul, then he who is the soul of all beings sweetly slumbers, free from all care and occupation.

yugapat tu pralIyante yadA tasmin mahAtmani | tadA'yaM sarvabhUtAtmA sukhaM svapiti nirvRtaH || 54 ||

When this (soul) has entered darkness, it remains for a long time united with the organs (of sensation), but performs not its functions; it then leaves the corporeal frame.
